Du Roi Integrated Pest Management (Pty) Ltd (Du Roi IPM) was established in 1999 and is situated in Letsitele, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The Company specialises in breeding beneficial insects such as, Cryptolaemus montrouzieri predatory ladybird beetles as well as Trichogrammatoidea cryptophlebia, Encarsia formosa and Coccidoxenoides perminutus parasitic wasps. These beneficial insects are used to help control agricultural pests and are sold to farmers mainly in the Citrus, Grape and undercover crop industries. Du Roi IPM is currently in its 11th year of business and has set up a network of agents throughout South Africa who assist with marketing and distribution of its products.
Du Roi IPM is ideally positioned to help farmers make the quantum leap from the use of ‘harsh’ and often potentially dangerous chemicals (many with long lasting residues) to the use of an integrated approach to pest management. This integrated approach incorporates the use of selected ‘soft’ chemicals together with augmentative releases of host specific beneficial insects.
Du Roi IPM prides itself in rendering a professional service and the production of high quality products. Our association with a number national and international research and academic institutions ensures that we keep abreast with new developments and are able to pass new technologies on to our clients.
Du Roi IPM’s vision is to provide cost effective, integrated bio-control to a wide range of agricultural and horticultural industries such that the needs of nature and industry are met. |
